Does chocolate or greasy food cause acne?

No, there is little solid evidence to prove this is true. However, a diet which is rich in unprocessed foods, fruit and vegetables, lean meat, fish and seafood and consuming plenty of water will all help your skin to look as good as possible.

Can stress cause acne?

Yes, periods of prolonged or chronic stress can exacerbate acne. Stress can cause our adrenal glands (above our kidneys) to produce hormones that can worsen acne, plus suppress the immune system including our ability to fight bacterial infection. Finding time to unwind and relax is important for your skin and general health.

Why is Quinoderm effective?

This is down to its dual action. Quinoderm is the only dual action benzoyl peroxide combination cream which is available from your pharmacist without prescription. Its active ingredients benzoyl peroxide and potassium hydroxyquinolone sulphate mean that it kills the bacteria that cause acne, prevents excessive sebum, breaks down the overgrowth of skin cells and reduces the formation of blackheads.

Are there any side effects of using Quinoderm?

As with all creams which contain benzoyl peroxide there may be a slight increase in skin irritation, redness and dryness. Some of this is to be expected and simply a result of the gentle skin-peeling and acne fighting action of our creams. Reducing the amount of cream used, or applying it less frequently can help minimize any irritation. If however, your skin is particularly sensitive to benzoyl peroxide, you have an itch or rash, then discontinue use and consult your pharmacist or doctor.
